Struggling with operational bottlenecks and slow quote times

Weightlifter Bodies is a well-known UK manufacturer, recognised for its lightweight yet incredibly strong tipper trailers and tipper bodies. They provide custom-built solutions to industries like construction, waste management, and aggregates, with a focus on top-quality craftsmanship and manufacturing technologies.

When Nigel Butler stepped in as Managing Director, he quickly realised outdated systems were holding the business back. Their sister company, PPG Fabrications, was using a 15-year-old quotation system that lacked basic features like storing customer data, tracking records, or calculating pricing accurately. Sales teams were forced to sift through old accounting records just to locate customer details, turning the quoting process into a slow and arduous task.

Nigel knew that to stay competitive, Weightlifter Bodies needed to embrace modern business management software to streamline operations. They needed to optimise their CRM database to speed up quoting and improve customer relationship management.

Struggling with operational bottlenecks and slow quote times

Through a recommendation, Nigel was introduced to Workbooks, a comprehensive customer relationship management system. A colleague also recommended CRM Insights, a firm known for implementing custom CRM systems that address industry-specific needs. CRM Insights was brought on board to help Weightlifter Bodies overhaul their processes.

CRM Insights delivered a tailored customisable database software solution that combined a robust client relationship management database with an automated quote management system. This CRM optimisation changed the sales process, enabling the team to generate quotes in minutes, even while speaking with a customer.

The new system also integrated CRM database systems for managing all customer information, tracking sales opportunities, forecasting materials, and monitoring performance, giving Weightlifter Bodies a major operational boost.

Measurable results from the CRM upgrade for Weightlifter Bodies

The new manufacturing CRM solutions quickly delivered key benefits for Weightlifter Bodies:

  • Faster Quoting Process: Quotes that once took an hour can now be generated in minutes with the new automated quotation system, significantly improving customer service.
  • Centralised Customer Data: All customer details are stored in an easy-to-access customer information database software, simplifying collaboration between sales staff and ensuring painless transitions when new team members come on board.
  • Enhanced Operations: The system drastically reduced administrative work by centralising data through the customer database management system, allowing the team to focus more on client relationships and revenue generation.
  • EDI Integrations: CRM Insights also implemented EDI integrations to ensure smooth data exchange across departments and systems.
  • Competitive Edge: With faster response times and better operations, Weightlifter Bodies has gained a significant edge over competitors, bolstering its reputation in the industry.

Nigel Butler, Managing Director of Weightlifter Bodies, reflected,

“CRM Insights really took the time to understand our business and delivered a custom CRM that fits exactly what we needed. The speed at which we can now respond to customers has been a game-changer, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”

What’s coming next?

Now, with a reliable CRM, Weightlifter Bodies is continuing to look to the future. The Weightlifter Bodies team plans to use the system’s reporting tools to better manage materials and streamline production. They are also looking to automate everyday tasks further to enable them to stay ahead of the competition in customer service.
